Is not this one the son of the carpenter? Is not his mother called Mary and his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas?

And [while] he was still speaking to the crowds, behold, his mother and brothers were standing there outside, desiring to speak to him.

And his mother and his brothers arrived, and standing outside, they sent [word] to him to summon him.

After this he went down to Capernaum, and his mother and brothers and his disciples, and they stayed there {a few} days.

So his brothers said to him, "Depart from here and go to Judea, so that your disciples also can see your works that you are doing.


Do we not have the right to take along a sister [as] wife, like the rest of the apostles and the brothers of the Lord and Cephas?

but I did not see [any] others of the apostles except James, the brother of the Lord.


And on the third day, there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. And both Jesus and his disciples were invited to the wedding. And [when the] wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They have no wine!" read more.
And Jesus said to her, "What {does your concern have to do with me}, woman? My hour has not yet come." His mother said to the servants, "Whatever he says to you, do [it]!" Now six stone water jars were set there, in accordance with the ceremonial cleansing of the Jews, each holding two or three measures. Jesus said to them, "Fill the water jars with water." And they filled them to the brim. And he said to them, "Now draw [some] out and take [it] to the head steward. So they took [it]. Now when the head steward tasted the water which had become wine and did not know where it was from--but the servants who had drawn the water knew--the head steward summoned the bridegroom and said to him, "{Everyone} serves the good wine first, and whenever they are drunk, the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!" This beginning of signs Jesus performed at Cana in Galilee, and revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him. After this he went down to Capernaum, and his mother and brothers and his disciples, and they stayed there {a few} days.
