For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things doing whatever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass that every soul which will not hear that prophet shall be destroyed from among the people.

And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food. But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. And they said unto him, We have here but five loaves and two fishes. read more.
He said, Bring them here to me. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass and took the five loaves and the two fishes; and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they all ate and were filled, and they took up of the fragments that remained, twelve baskets full. And those that had eaten were about five thousand men besides women and children.

And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed; send them away that they may go into the country round about and into the villages and buy themselves bread, for they have nothing to eat. He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said unto him, Shall we go and buy bread for two hundred denarius and give them to eat? read more.
He said unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they said, Five, and two fishes. And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass. And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds and by fifties. And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke the loaves and gave them to his disciples to set before them, and the two fishes he divided among them all. And they all ate and were filled. And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments and of the fishes. And those that ate were five thousand men.

And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve and said unto him, Send the multitude away that they may go into the towns and country round about and lodge and get victuals, for we are here in a desert place. But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more than five loaves and two fishes, unless we should go and buy food for all these people. For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down in companies of fifty. read more.
And they did so and made them all sit down. Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them and broke and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude. And they ate and were all filled, and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.

Then Jesus lifted up his eyes and saw a great company come unto him; he said unto Philip, From where shall we buy bread that these may eat? But he said this to prove him, for he knew what he would do. Philip answered him, Two hundred denarius of bread is not sufficient for them, that each one of them may take a little. read more.
One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said unto him, There is a lad here, who has five barley loaves and two small fishes, but what are they among so many? Then Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples and the disciples to those that were sitting down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they desired. When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain that nothing be lost. Therefore they gathered them together and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over from those that had eaten. Then those men, as they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth the prophet that was to come into the world.

When Jesus heard of it, he departed from there by ship into a desert place apart; and when the people had heard of it, they followed him on foot out of the cities. And Jesus went forth and saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick. And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food. read more.

And the people, when they knew it, followed him, and he received them and spoke unto them of the kingdom of God and healed those that had need of healing. And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve and said unto him, Send the multitude away that they may go into the towns and country round about and lodge and get victuals, for we are here in a desert place. read more.

And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship and to go before him unto the other side while he sent the multitude away. And when he had sent the multitude away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray; and when the evening was come, he was there alone. But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves, for the wind was contrary. read more.
And in the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went unto them, walking upon the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking upon the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a ghost; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spoke unto them, saying, Trust that I AM; be not afraid. Then Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me to come unto thee upon the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked upon the water to go to Jesus. But seeing that the wind was strong, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand and caught him and said unto him, O thou of little faith, why didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. Then those that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Truly thou art the Son of God.

And straightway he told his disciples to get quickly into the ship and to go to the other side before him unto Bethsaida while he dispatched the people. And when he had dispatched them, he departed into the mountain to pray. And when night was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land. read more.
And he saw them toiling in rowing, for the wind was contrary unto them; and about the fourth watch of the night he came unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them. But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a ghost and cried out, For they all saw him and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them and said unto them, Be of good cheer; I AM; be not afraid. And he went up unto them into the ship, and the wind ceased; and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure and wondered. For they had not yet derived understanding in the loaves, for their hearts were blind.

Jesus therefore knowing that they would come and take him by force to make him king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone. And when evening was come, his disciples went down unto the sea read more.
and entered into a ship and were crossing the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus had not come to them. And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew. So when they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty furlongs, they saw Jesus walking upon the sea and drawing nigh unto the ship, and they were afraid. But he said unto them, I AM; be not afraid. Then they willingly received him into the ship, and immediately the ship was at the land where they went.
