Ought not Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into his glory?

For I say to you, that this which is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it shall be accomplished!

Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

And said to them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then will he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

But whoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven. Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. read more.
And a man's foes will be they of his own household.

I am come to send fire on the earth, and what will I, if it is already kindled? But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it shall be accomplished! Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, No; but rather division: read more.
For from henceforth there will be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father will be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

Then said Jesus to Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received from my Father.

Therefore I will divide to him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul to death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it shall be accomplished!

He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: If therefore ye seek me, let these go away:

And he said to them, I have earnestly desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer.

The Son of man goeth, as it is written concerning him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man, if he had not been born.

Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he will presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

And again he went away, and prayed, and spoke the same words.

And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,

They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith to them, I am he. And Judas also, who betrayed him, stood with them.
