Then was Jesus led up by the Spirit into the wilderness, to be tempted by the Devil. And when he had tasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward hungry.
And immediately the Spirit driveth him forth into the wilderness. And he was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to him.

Again, the Devil taketh him m an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory; and said to him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus to him, Be gone, Satan! for it is written, "Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." Then the Devil leaveth him; and lo! angels came and ministered to him.
