But there were some of the scribes sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, Why doth this man speak thus? He blasphemeth; who can forgive sins but God only? And Jesus immediately perceiving in his spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, saith to them, Why do ye reason thus in your hearts? read more.
Which is easier? to say to the palsied man, Thy sins are forgiven? or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed and go? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority on earth to forgive sins,he saith to the palsied man, I say to thee, Arise, take up thy bed and go to thy house.

For if ye believed Moses, ye would believe me; for he wrote of me. But if ye do not believe his writings, how will ye believe my words?
