upon which they said to one another, this comes from our not taking any bread. which Jesus perceiving, he said, distrustful men, why do ye trouble your heads about forgetting the bread? where's your understanding? don't you remember the five loaves among five thousand and how many baskets ye took away? nor the seven loaves among the four thousand, and how many baskets ye carried away? why, can't you perceive, that in cautioning you to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the Sadducees, I did not speak of bread? then they perceived, he did not caution them against the leaven of bread, but against the Pharisaick and Sadducean doctrine.
