Jehovah your God walks in the middle of your camp. He is there to deliver you and to defeat your enemies before you. Therefore your camp must be holy. He must not see anything indecent among you or He will turn away from you.

Thick clouds enwrap him, so that he does not see, and he walks on the dome of the heavens.'

You tread the sea with your horses, the serge of mighty waters.


The seventh day is the Sabbath of Jehovah your God: in it you should not do any work. Your son and daughter should not work. Your manservant and maidservant should not work. Your ox, donkey, cattle or any stranger living with you should not work. Your manservant and maidservant should rest as much as you do.

By the seventh day God had finished his work. He rested from all his work on the seventh day. God blessed the seventh day and made it holy. This is because he rested from all the work of creation he had done.


It is a long lasting sign between the people of Israel and me for the reason that Jehovah made heaven and earth in six days. Then He ceased from work and was refreshed on the seventh day.'

Somewhere God said this about the seventh day: God rested on the seventh day from all his works.

He who enters into his rest also rests from his own works, just as God did from his.


With whom was he disgusted for forty years? He was disgusted and angry with those who sinned and died in the desert.


So they removed the foreign gods and worshiped Jehovah. He could bear the distress of Israel no longer.

For forty years I was grieved with this generation. I said: It is a people who go astray in their hearts, and they have not known my ways.

I was disgusted (angry) with this generation, and said: 'They always go astray in their hearts, and they have not known my ways.'


Jehovah laughs at him, for he sees that his day will come.

The One who dwells in heaven laughs. Jehovah scoffs at them.

O Jehovah, you laugh at them. You make fun of all the nations.



He sees that there is no one to help. He is astounded that there is no one to intercede. So he saves him with his own power. His righteousness supports him.

I looked, but there was no help. I was astounded that there was no outside support. So my own arm (power) brought me salvation. My anger supported me.



Wake up! Why are you sleeping, O Jehovah? Awake! Do not reject us forever!

He allowed his power to be taken captive and handed his glory over to an oppressor.


Jehovah has sworn with his right hand and with his mighty arm (of power): I will never again let your enemies eat your grain, nor will foreigners drink the new wine that you produced.


Do you not know? Have you not heard? JEHOVAH IS THE EVERLASTING GOD, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and no one can measure (find out) his understanding.
