Noah built an altar to Jehovah and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. Jehovah smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: Never again will I curse the ground because of man, for the intent of his heart is evil from childhood. I will never again destroy every living creature, as I have done. As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, will never cease.

You must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it. I will require your lifeblood as an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. It will be the sign of my covenant with the world of mankind. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant with you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the long lasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth. God said: This is the sign of the covenant I have established with all life on the earth.

He has remembered his covenant forever! It is the word he commanded to a thousand generations.

He confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant.

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed, says Jehovah. I have compassion on you.

Do not fear those who kill the body. They are not able to take away your [everlasting] life. Instead, fear him who is able to destroy both life and body in the ever-burning fires. (Greek: Gehenna: continuously burning trash fires in the valley of Hinnom.)

If your right eye causes you to sin, take it out and throw it away! It is better to lose a part of your body then to have your whole body destroyed in the ever-burning fires of the Valley of Hinnom.

He will punish him severely, and send him to be with the hypocrites. There they will cry and grind their teeth.

but the sons of the kingdom will be cast forth into the outer darkness: there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The king gave orders for that person to be tied hand and foot and thrown outside into the dark. That is where people will cry and grind their teeth in pain.

Even in your old age with gray hair I am he, I am he who will support you. I have made you and I will bear your burden (take care of you). I will sustain (support) (strengthen) you and I will rescue you (keep you safe).

The eternal God is a dwelling place. Underneath are the everlasting arms. He drove out the enemy from before you, and said: 'Destroy!'

He took them in his arms, put his hands upon them and blessed them.

We know that if our earthly house (human body) (habitation of life) is destroyed; we have a building from God. It is an everlasting house in the heavens, not made with human hands.

I will make his descendants endure forever and his throne like the days of heaven.

Jehovah appeared to him from afar, saying: I have loved you with an everlasting love. Therefore I have drawn you with loving-kindness.

In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you, says Jehovah your Redeemer.
