Cease, my son, to hear the teaching that induces one to deviate from the reasons of wisdom.

to deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger who flatters with her words,

(She is loud and stubborn; her feet do not abide in her house: Now without, now in the streets, she lies in wait at every corner.) So she caught him and kissed him and with an impudent face said unto him, read more.
I had promised sacrifices of peace; today I have payed my vows. Therefore I came forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee. I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt. I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning; let us solace ourselves with loves. For the husband is not at home; he is gone a long journey: He has taken a bag of money with him and will come home at the appointed feast day. With her much fair speech she caused him to yield; with the flattering of her lips she persuaded him. He went after her straightway, as an ox goes to the slaughter or as a fool to the correction of the stocks, until the arrow pierces through his liver. He is as a bird struggling in the snare and not knowing that it is against his own life. Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye sons, and attend to the words of my mouth. Let not thine heart decline to her ways; do not go astray in her paths. For she has caused many to fall down dead; yea, all the strong men have been slain by her. Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the chambers of death.

A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple and knows nothing. For she sits at the door of her house on a seat in the high places of the city to call to those who pass by the way, to those who straighten their ways; read more.
Whosoever is simple, let him turn in here; and as for him that lacks understanding, she saith unto him: Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. But he does not know that the dead are there and that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.

But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who covertly shall bring in destructive sects and shall deny the Lord that bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways, by reason of whom the way of truth shall be blasphemed; and in covetousness they shall make merchandise of you with feigned words, upon whom the condemnation from a long time ago does not delay, and their perdition does not sleep. read more.
For if God did not forgive the angels that sinned, but cast them down into the deepest abyss and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; and if he did not forgive the old world, but kept Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven other persons, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; and if he condemned by destruction the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha, turning them into ashes, making them an example unto those that after should live without fear and reverence of God; and delivered just Lot, who was persecuted by those abominable people because of their nefarious conversation; (for that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, afflicted his righteous soul from day to day with the deeds of those unjust people); the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished; and chiefly those that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise dominion; presumptuous, arrogant, they are not afraid to speak evil of the higher powers; whereas even the angels, who are greater in power and might, bring no curse of judgment against them before the Lord. But these, speaking evil of the things that they do not understand (as natural animals without reason, who are made to be taken and destroyed), shall utterly perish in their own corruption, receiving the reward of their unrighteousness, as those that count it pleasure to live luxuriously every day. These are spots and blemishes, who eat together with you, while at the same time they revel in their deceit, having their eyes full of adultery, and not knowing how to cease from sin, baiting unstable souls, having their heart exercised in covetous practices; cursed sons, who forsaking the right way have erred, having followed the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness, and was rebuked for his iniquity; a dumb animal accustomed to a yoke (upon which he was seated), speaking with man's voice, hindered the madness of the prophet. These are wells without water, clouds that are brought by a whirlwind, to whom gross darkness is reserved for ever. For speaking arrogant words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from those who converse in error, promising them liberty, being they themselves the slaves of corruption: for he who is overcome by someone is subject to bondage by the one that overcame him.

They are among those that rebel against the light; they have never known its ways nor abided in its paths. The murderer rises with the light, kills the poor and the needy, and in the night is as a thief. The eye of the adulterer waits for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me; and disguises his face. read more.
In the dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for themselves in the daytime; they do not know the light. For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death; if they are known, the terrors of the shadow of death come over them. They are swift upon the waters; their portion is cursed in the earth; they never come by the way of the vineyards.

For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he weighs all his goings. His own iniquities shall take hold of the wicked, and he shall be imprisoned with the cords of his sins. He shall die because he did not submit to chastening; and due to the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.

Through wisdom the house shall be built, and with intelligence it shall be established:

For this ye know, that no fornicator nor unclean person nor covetous man, who is also an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with vain words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Be not ye, therefore, partakers with them.

But we know that the law is good, if a man uses it legitimately, knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly sinners, for the evil and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for fornicators, for homosexuals, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine,

I AM the Alpha and the Omega, beginning and end, the first and the last. Blessed are those who do his commandments that their power and authority might be in the tree of life and they may enter in through the gates into the city. But outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the fornicators and the murderers and the idolaters and whosoever loves and makes a lie.

For a whore is a deep ditch and a strange woman is a narrow pit. She also lies in wait as for a prey and increases the transgressors among men.

Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding and give thee commandments for Israel, and that thou keep the law of the LORD thy God.

And unto these four young men, God gave them knowledge and intelligence in all letters and science; furthermore Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

There is nothing better for a man than that he should eat and drink and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. I also have seen that this is from the hand of God. For who can eat, or who can care for himself better than I? For God gives to the man that is good in his sight wisdom and knowledge and joy, but to the sinner he gives travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to the one that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.

And Daniel spoke and said, Blessed be the name of God from age to age for wisdom and might are his; and it is he that changes the times and the opportunities; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom unto the wise and knowledge unto those that know understanding:

if thou seekest her as silver and searchest for her as for hid treasures, then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; out of his mouth comes knowledge and intelligence. He keeps the person of the upright; he is a buckler to those that walk perfectly, keeping the paths of judgment and the way of his merciful ones. Then shalt thou understand righteousness and judgment and equity, yea, every good path. When wisdom enters into thine heart and knowledge is sweet unto thy soul, discretion shall preserve thee, intelligence shall keep thee to deliver thee from the evil way, from the man that speaks perversion, who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness, who rejoice to do evil and delight in wicked perversion, whose ways are crooked, and they are crooked in their paths; to deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger who flatters with her words, who forsakes the prince of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God. But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

For we speak perfect wisdom of God, and not the wisdom of this age nor of the princes of this age, that come to nought, but we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God predestined before the ages unto our glory, which none of the princes of this age knew (for had they known it, they would never have crucified the Lord of glory). read more.
But as it is written, That which eye has not seen nor ear heard neither has entered into the heart of man is that which God has prepared for those that love him. But God has revealed this unto us by his Spirit, for the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the things of man, except the spirit of man which is in him? Even so no one has known the things of God, but the Spirit of God. Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that God has given us. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but with doctrine of the Holy Spirit, jointly fitting spiritual things by spiritual means. But the natural man does not perceive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he understand them because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual discerns all things, yet he is discerned by no one. For who has known the understanding of the Lord? Who has instructed him? But we have the understanding of Christ.
