I will be a father to him, and he will be to me a son who, when he commits iniquity, I will discipline with the rod wielded by armies and with wounds inflicted by human beings.

My son, do not reject the LORD's discipline, and do not despise his correction, because the LORD corrects the person he loves, just as a father corrects the son he delights in.



I know, LORD, that your decrees are just, and that you have rightfully humbled me.


Now, while we are being judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so we won't be condemned along with the world.

For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he punishes every son he accepts." What you endure disciplines you: God is treating you as sons. Is there a son whom his father does not discipline?
