No mention shall be made of coral, or of crystal: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.

Better is the poor who walks in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.

The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

[Teth] You have dealt well with your servant, O LORD, according unto your word. Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed your commandments. Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept your word. read more.
You are good, and do good; teach me your statutes. The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep your precepts with my whole heart. Their heart is as gross as grease; but I delight in your law. It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn your statutes. The law of your mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver pieces.

Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold. For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it. I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge and discretion. read more.
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the perverse mouth, do I hate. Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength. By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth. I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. Riches and honor are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.

Then I saw that wisdom excels folly, as far as light excels darkness.

It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.

For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

Wisdom strengthens the wise more than ten mighty men who are in the city.

Happy is the man that finds wisdom, and the man that gets understanding. For the gain from it is better than the gain from silver, and the profit thereof than fine gold.

Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.

If the iron is blunt, and he does not sharpen the edge, then must he use more strength: but wisdom helps one to succeed.

Wisdom is before him that has understanding; but the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth.

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all your getting get understanding.

Wisdom is too lofty for a fool: he opens not his mouth in the gate.

Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun. For wisdom is a defense, and money is a defense: but the excellence of knowledge is, that wisdom gives life to them that have it.

Does not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice? She stands in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths. She cries at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the entrance at the doors. read more.
Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man. O you simple, understand wisdom: and, you fools, be of an understanding heart. Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and from the opening of my lips shall come right things. For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing crooked or perverse in them. They are all plain to him that understands, and right to them that find knowledge. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice: That I may cause those that love me to inherit wealth; and I will fill their treasuries. The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth was. When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth: While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the first of the dust of the world. When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he drew a circle upon the face of the depth: When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his command: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: Then I was by him, like a master workman: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
