The same time the disciples came to Jesus saying, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"

But Jesus called them unto him, and said, "Ye know that the Lords of the gentiles have domination over them. And they that are great exercise power over them.

He that is greatest among you, shall be your servant. But whosoever exalteth himself, shall be brought low. And he that humbleth himself, shall be exalted.

The same time the disciples came to Jesus saying, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" Jesus called a child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, and said, "Verily, I say unto you, Except ye turn, and become as children, ye cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Then there arose a disputation among them: who should be the greatest. When Jesus perceived the thoughts of their hearts, he took a child, and set him hard by him, and said unto them, "Whosoever receiveth this child in my name, receiveth me. And whosoever receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me. For he that is least among you all, the same shall be great."

And the son of man goeth as it is appointed: But woe be to that man by whom he is betrayed." And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it should be, that should do that. And there was a strife among them, which of them should be taken for the greatest. read more.
And he said unto them, "The kings of the gentiles reign over them; And they that bear rule over them, are called gracious Lords. But ye shall not be so. But he that is greatest among you, shall be as the youngest: And he that is chief, shall be as the minister. For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat: or he that serveth? Is not he that sitteth at meat? And I am among you, as he that ministereth.

Whosoever breaketh one of these least commandments, and teacheth men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But whosoever observeth, and teacheth the same, shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

For whosoever exalteth himself, shall be brought low. And he that humbleth himself, shall be exalted."

And he put forth this similitude, unto certain which trusted in themselves, that they were perfect, and despised others. "Two men went up into the temple to pray: the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank thee that I am not as other men are; extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or as this publican. read more.
I fast twice in the week. I give tithe of all that I possess.' And the publican stood afar off, and would not lift up his eyes to heaven, but smote his breast, saying, 'God be merciful to me, a sinner.' I tell you, This man departed home to his house justified more than the other. For every man that exalteth himself, shall be brought low: And he that humbleth himself, shall be exalted."

Likewise, ye younger submit yourselves unto the elder. Submit yourselves every man, one to another. Knit yourselves together in lowliness of mind. For God resisteth the proud and giveth grace to the humble. Submit yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you, when the time is come.

When Jesus perceived that they would come, and take him up to make him King, he departed again: into a mountain, himself alone.

Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him. And he said unto her, "What wilt thou have?" She said unto him, "Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand in thy kingdom." Jesus answered, and said, "Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of? And to be baptised with the baptism, that I shall be baptised with?" They answered to him, "That we are." read more.
And he said unto them, "Ye shall drink of my cup, and shall be baptised with the baptism that I shall be baptised with. But to sit on my right hand, and on my left hand, is not mine to give you: but to them for whom it is prepared of my father."

When they were come together, they asked of him, saying, "Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?" And he said unto them, "It is not for you to know the times, or the seasons which the father hath put in his own power:

And they that went before and they that followed, cried, saying, "Hosanna: blessed be he that cometh in the name of the Lord. Blessed be the kingdom that cometh in the name of him that is Lord of our father David. Hosanna in the highest."

"And whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink for my name's sake because ye are belonging to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward. Then said he to the disciples, "It cannot be avoided, but that offenses will come. Nevertheless, woe be to him through whom they come. It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were cast into the sea, rather than that he should offend one of these little ones.

But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my father which is in heaven. Think not, that I am come to send peace into the earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth his father or mother more than me, is not meet for me: and he that loveth his son or daughter more than me, is not meet for me. He that receiveth you, receiveth me; and he that receiveth me, receiveth him that sent me. He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet, shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man, shall receive the reward of a righteous man.

Jesus said to him, "He that is washed needeth not, save to wash his feet, and is clean every whit. And ye are clean: but not all." For he knew his betrayer. Therefore said he, "Ye are not all clean." After he had washed their feet, and received his clothes, and was set down again, he said unto them, "Know ye what I have done to you? read more.
Ye call me 'Master' and 'Lord,' and ye say well, for so am I. If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet: ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. Verily, verily I say unto you, the servant is not greater than his master; Neither the messenger greater than he that sent him. If ye understand these things, happy are ye if ye do them. "I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: But that the scripture be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me. Now tell I you, before it come: that when it is come to pass ye might believe that I am he. Verily, verily I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send, receiveth me.
