And all the people in the synagogue were filled with rage as they heard these things; and they got up and drove Him out of the city, and led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city had been built, in order to throw Him down the cliff.

But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.




I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, you will receive him.


Jesus *said to them, “Did you never read in the Scriptures,
The stone which the builders rejected,
This became the chief corner stone;
This came about from the Lord,
And it is marvelous in our eyes’?

And behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus; and when they saw Him, they implored Him to leave their region.


But they cried out all together, saying, “Away with this man, and release for us Barabbas!”


"Because I called and you refused, I stretched out my hand and no one paid attention; And you neglected all my counsel And did not want my reproof; I will also laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your dread comes, read more.

Behold, on the day of your fast you find your desire,
And drive hard all your workers.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

Crispus, the leader of the synagogue, believed in the Lord with all his household, and many of the Corinthians when they heard were believing and being baptized. And the Lord said to Paul in the night by a vision, "Do not be afraid any longer, but go on speaking and do not be silent; for I am with you, and no man will attack you in order to harm you, for I have many people in this city."
