knowing this: that our old man is crucified with him that the body of sin might be destroyed that we should not serve sin any longer.
For those that are of the Christ have crucified the flesh with its affections and lusts.
so that now the time that remains in the flesh, he might live, not unto the lusts of men, but unto the will of God.
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Therefore if thy right eye should bring thee occasion to stumble, pluck it out and cast it from thee; for it is better for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
Therefore if thy hand or thy foot cause thee to fall, cut them off and cast them from thee; it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into eternal fire.
Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from the carnal desires which war against the soul

Who shall transform our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto the body of his glory, according to the working by which he is also able to subdue all things unto himself.

For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven,

For as in Adam all die, even so in the Christ shall all be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward, those that are Christ's at his coming. Then comes the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father, when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. For he has put all things under his feet. But when he says all things are put under him, it is clear that he is excepted, who did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also subject himself unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. Else what shall they do who are baptized for the dead, if the dead do not rise at all? why are they then baptized for the dead? And why do we stand in jeopardy every hour? I die daily to stay in the glory of having taught you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord. If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what does it advantage me, if the dead do not rise? let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we die. Be not deceived: evil companions corrupt good character. Watch diligently, and sin not; for some do not know God: I speak this to your shame. But someone will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not brought to life, unless it dies first; and that which thou sowest, thou sowest not the body that shall be, but bare grain: it may be of wheat or of some other grain; but God gives it a body as it has pleased him, and to each seed its own body. All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the heavenly glory is one thing, and the earthly glory is another. One thing is the glory of the sun, and another the glory of the moon, and another the glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it shall be raised in incorruption; it is sown in dishonour, it shall be raised with glory; it is sown in weakness, it shall be raised with power; it is sown a natural body, it shall be raised a spiritual body. and shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify; ; and the third day he shall rise again.
And as they came down from the mountain, he commanded them that they should tell no one what things they had seen until the Son of man was risen from the dead.

And when the sabbath of the great feast of the passover was past, Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James, and Salome had bought sweet spices that they might come and anoint him. And very early in the morning the first of the sabbaths, they come unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near and went together with them. But their eyes were held fast that they should not know him. And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another as ye walk and are sad? And one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days? Then he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, and how the princes of the priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death and crucified him. But we were hoping that it was he who should redeem Israel, and beside all this, today is the third day since these things were done. Although also certain women of our company made us astonished, who before daybreak were at the sepulchre; and when they did not find his body, they came, saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive. And certain of those who were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said; but they did not see him. Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken; ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter (like this) into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded this unto them in all the scriptures concerning himself. And they drew near unto the village where they went, and he made as though he would have gone further. But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them. And it came to pass as he sat at the table with them, he took bread and blessed it and broke and gave to them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us while he talked with us in the way and while he opened to us the scriptures? And they rose up the same hour and returned to Jerusalem and found the eleven gathered together and those that were with them, saying, The Lord is risen indeed and has appeared to Simon. And they told what things were done in the way and how he was known to them in the breaking of the bread. And as they spoke these things, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them and said unto them, Peace be unto you. But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed that they were seeing a spirit. And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself; handle me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as ye see me have. And when he had thus spoken, he showed them his hands and his feet. And as they were not believing him yet for joy and wondering, he said unto them, Have ye here any food? So they gave him a piece of a broiled fish and of a honeycomb. And he took it and ate before them. And he said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the law of Moses and in the prophets and in the psalms, concerning me. Then he opened their understanding that they might understand the scriptures and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day;
And it came to pass as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments; and as they were afraid and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen; remember how he spoke unto you when he was yet in Galilee, saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and the third day rise again. Then they remembered his words and returned from the sepulchre and told all these things unto the eleven and to all the rest. It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and other women that were with them who told these things unto the apostles. And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they did not believe them. But Peter arose and ran unto the sepulchre, and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass. And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was about sixty furlongs from Jerusalem. And they talked together of all these things which had happened. Jesus therefore, becoming enraged again in himself, came to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it. Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that had died, said unto him, Lord, by this time he stinks, for he has been dead four days. Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus, lifting up his eyes, said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always, but because of the people who stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. And having said these things, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. The multitude, therefore, that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave and raised him from the dead, bore witness. For this cause the multitude also met him, for they had heard that he had done this sign.
