Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the wise men, was exceedingly angry, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the region thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.

And you Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are not the least among the princes of Judah: for out of you shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,


And all that dwelt at Lydda and Sharon saw him, and turned to the Lord.

And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints who dwelt at Lydda.

And since as Lydda was near to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.


Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:

And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.


When the evening was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple:

And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him permission. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.


Now Bethany was near unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:

Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.


And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.


And when they drew near unto Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,


And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.


Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went from there unto the country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.


But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
