Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
(For if a man knows not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
Take heed therefore that the light which is in you be not darkness.
That every one of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor;
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they?
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor yet for your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body than clothing?
And why take you thought for clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, How shall we be clothed?
For bodily exercise profits for a little while: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
Therefore remove sorrow from your heart, and put away evil from your flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.
For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord the church:
Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for dishonest gain, but of a ready mind;
That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.
But that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
That good thing which was committed unto you keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.
But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what you shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what you shall speak.
And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat; neither for the body, what you shall put on.
Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:
But seek you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Therefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to work it and to keep it.
If any man defiles the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.
And whether one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honored, all the members rejoice with it.
But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours becomes a stumbling block to them that are weak.
There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married cares for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
Drink no longer water only, but use a little wine for your stomach's sake and your frequent illnesses.
Neither yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
And you shall have a stick with your weapons; and it shall be, when you will relieve yourself outside, you shall dig with it, and shall turn back and cover your refuse:
And fear not them who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood.
And those members of the body, which we think to be less honorable, upon these we bestow more abundant honor; and our less respectable parts have greater respect.
Let the husband render unto the wife her due: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them who suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
For the LORD your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you, and to give up your enemies before you; therefore shall your camp be holy: that he sees no unclean thing in you, and turns away from you.
LORD, what is man, that you take knowledge of him! or the son of man, that you make account of him!
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.
And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him permission. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.
And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be warmed and filled; yet you give them not those things which are needful to the body; what does it profit?
If you then be not able to do that thing which is least, why are you anxious concerning the rest?
