As they were going along, they met a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: and compelled him to carry the cross. when they were come to a place called Golgotha, a word which signifies a skull, they gave him a mixture of wine and gall: but when he had tasted it, he refused to drink. after they had crucified him, they shared his clothes among them by casting losts:
