So also ye, since ye are eager for spiritual gifts, seek that ye may abound in them with a view to the edification of the assembly.
And, having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us; whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith; or ministry, let us labor in the ministry; or he that teaches, in teaching; or he that exhorts, in his exhortation; he that imparts, let him do it with liberality; he that presides, with diligence; he that shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
And, when the sabbath came, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many, hearing Him, were astonished, saying, "Whence hath this Man these things?" And, "What is the wisdom which is given to This Man?" And, "Such mighty works are wrought by His hands!" "Is not This the Carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, and Joses, and Judas, and Simon? and are not His sisters here with us?" And they were finding occasion of stumbling in Him. And Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and among his own kindred, and in his own house."read more.
And He could there do no mighty work, except that, laying His hands on a few sick people, He healed them. And He marvelled because of their unbelief. And He was going round about the villages, teaching.
If I testify concerning Myself, My testimony is not true. There is Another Who testifieth concerning Me; and I know that the testimony which He testifieth concerning Me is true. Ye have sent to John, and he has testified to the truth.read more.
But the testimony I receive is not from man; but these things I say, that ye may be saved. He was a lamp that was burning and shining; and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. But I have a testimony greater than that of John; for the works which the Father hath given Me to accomplish, the very works that I am doing testify concerning Me, that the Father hath sent Me. And the Father Who sent Me, He hath testified concerning Me. Ye have neither at any time heard His voice, nor seen His form. And ye have not His word abiding in you; because Whom He sent, Him ye believe not.
And Stephen, full of grace and power, was performing great wonders and signs among the people.
For I reckon that I am in no respect behind the most eminent apostles. And, though I be rude in speech, yet am I not rude in knowledge; but in every way having manifested it toward you in all things.
