The birth (genesis: origin) (beginning) of Jesus Christ was as follows: His mother Mary had been promised to Joseph in marriage. But before they were married, Mary realized that she was pregnant by Holy Spirit. Her husband Joseph was an honorable man and did not want to disgrace her publicly. So he decided to break the marriage agreement with her secretly. Joseph had this in mind when God's angel appeared to him in a dream. She will give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus (Jehovah (YHWH) is salvation), because he will save his people from their sins. All this happened so that what God spoke through the prophet came true: The virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they will name him Immanuel, which means: God (God-like one) is with us. There must go forth a twig out of the stump of Jesse. A branch (sprout) (shoot) (descendant) from his roots will bear fruit. The Spirit of Jehovah will rest on him. He will stand as a signal for the peoples. His resting place will be glorious.

Joseph came from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea to be counted and taxed. He went to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David. He registered himself with Mary, who was engaged to him. She was about to become a mother. While they were there the time came for Mary to give birth. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger. That was because there was no room for them in the inn. Shepherds in the same country were in the field keeping watch by night over their flock. God's angel stood by them and His glory gave illumination around them and they were very afraid. The angel spoke to them: Do not be afraid. Behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy to all the people. Christ (Messiah) the Lord, a Savior, is born this day in the city of David. This is the sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes, and lying in a manger. Suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly hosts praising God, and saying: Glory to God in the highest. Peace on earth among men with whom he is pleased. The angels went away from them into heaven. Then the shepherds said to one another, Let us go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which God told us about. They hurried to see the baby. They found Mary and Joseph. And they saw the baby lying in the manger. As soon as they saw it they told what they had heard about the child. All that heard it wondered at the things that were spoken to them by the shepherds. Mary remembered all these sayings, pondering them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea during the reign of King Herod. Astrologers arrived in Jerusalem from the east. They asked: Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and came to offer him praise.
And again, Isaiah says: Then in that day the nations will search for and turn to the root of Jesse. He will stand as a signal for the peoples. His resting place will be glorious. (Isaiah 11:10) Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Again Jehovah spoke to Ahaz: Ask Jehovah your God for a sign. Ask it in the deepest depths or in the highest heights. But Ahaz said: I will not ask. I will not put Jehovah to the test.read more.

You know the time. It is the hour for you to awake from sleep. Now our salvation is nearer than when we became believers. The night is far along and the day is at hand. Let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk honestly as in the daytime, not in rioting and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and loose conduct, not in strife and jealousy.read more.
