And Joshua said unto the people, "Purify yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD shall show wonders among you."

For thus sayeth the LORD, 'Ye shall see neither wind nor rain, and yet this brook shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, and your beasts and your cattle also.'

Gird up thy loins like a man, for I will question thee, see thou give me a direct answer.

I will dwell in thy tabernacle forever and my trust shall be under the covering of thy wings. Selah.

Hope deferred grieveth the heart; but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

Upon the walls of Jerusalem, I have set keepers which shall never cease, neither by day nor yet by night.

"Thou son of man, prophesy and speak, 'Thus sayeth the LORD God: Mourn, woe worth this day, for the day is here, the day of the LORD is come: the dark day of the Heathen, the hour is at hand,

Then turn to thy God, keep mercy and equity, and hope still in thy God.

I pray not for them alone: but for them also which shall believe on me through their preaching,

For I suppose that the afflictions of this life are not worthy of the glory which shall be showed upon us.

For we are saved by hope. But hope that is seen is no hope. For how can a man hope for that which he seeth?

But as it is written, "The eye hath not seen, and the ear hath not heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." But God hath opened them unto us by his spirit. For the spirit searcheth all things, yea the bottom of God's secrets.

Even as Abraham "believed God, and it was ascribed to him for righteousness." Understand, therefore, that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. For the scripture saw aforehand, that God would justify the heathen through faith, and therefore showed beforehand glad tidings unto Abraham: "In thee shall all nations be blessed."read more.
So then, they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

And they all died in faith, and received not the promises: but saw them afar off, and believed them, and saluted them: and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. They that say such things, declare that they seek a country. Also, if they had been mindful of that country, from whence they came out, they had leisure to have returned again.read more.
But now they desire a better, that is to say a heavenly. Wherefore God is not ashamed of them, even to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, which giveth to all men indifferently and casteth no man in the teeth; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, and waver not. For he that doubteth is like the waves of the sea, tossed of the wind, and carried with violence. Neither let that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
