If anyone competes as an athlete, he does not win the prize unless he competes according to the rules.
Every man taking part in the contest is temperate in all things. They do it to obtain a corruptible crown but we do it to receive an incorruptible crown. I do not run without definite aim (purpose) and I do not fight like a man beating the air. But I discipline my body, and bring it into subjection, so that after I have preached to others I will not be disqualified.

Lift up the hands that hang down, and the feeble knees. Make straight paths for your feet. Let that which is lame be turned out of the way, but rather let it be healed.

It comes out of its chamber like a bridegroom. Like a champion, it is eager to run its course.
