17 Bible Verses about Adversity

My brethren, count it all joy, when ye fall into divers temptations, Knowing that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have it's perfect work, that ye may be perfect and intire, wanting nothing.

And we know, that all things work together for good, to them that love God, to them that are called according to his purpose.

I have spoken these things to you, that ye may have peace in me. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but take courage: I have overcome the world.

There hath no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above your ability, but will with the temptation make also a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Therefore we faint not, but even though the outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh out for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory: While we aim not at the things that are seen, but the things that are not seen: for the things that are seen are temporal, but the things that are not seen are eternal.

I can do all things through Christ strengthening me.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall affliction, or distress, or persecution, or hunger, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Come to me, all ye that labour, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

What shall we say then to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

He that overcometh, I will give him to sit with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne.

Happy is the man that endureth temptation: for when he hath been proved, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man when he is tempted say, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man. Beloved, wonder not at the burning which is among you, which is for your trial, as if some strange thing befell you: But as ye partake of the sufferings of Christ, rejoice, that when his glory shall be revealed, ye may likewise rejoice with exceeding great joy.

for your adversary the devil, walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour:

No one hath greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
