How can you believe, who receive glory from one another, and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?
nor did we seek glory from men, either from you or from others, though we might have made demands as apostles of Christ.

but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey wickedness, there will be wrath and fury.
For by the grace given to me I say to every one among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith which God has assigned him.
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
You were taught, with regard to your former manner of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful lusts;
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,

I also want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and sensibly, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly garments,
