For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idol-worship. Because you have rejected the Word of Jehovah, He has also rejected you from being king!

A high look, a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

But now you boast in your presumptions. All such boasting is evil.

Talk no more so very proudly. Remove arrogance out of your mouth, for Jehovah is a God of knowledge, and by Him actions are weighed.

They speak vanity each one with his neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart they speak. Jehovah shall cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that speaks proud things,

So says Jehovah, Do not let the wise glory in his wisdom, nor let the mighty glory in his might; do not let the rich glory in his riches; but let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am Jehovah, doing kindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth; for in these I delight, says Jehovah.

The foolish shall not stand in Your sight. You hate all doers of iniquity.

Blessed is the man who makes Jehovah his trust and does not turn to the proud, nor to those who turn aside to a lie.

Though Jehovah is high, yet He has respect to the lowly; but the proud He knows afar off.

Woe to those wise in their own eyes, and bright in their own sight!

Hear and give ear; do not be proud; for Jehovah has spoken. Give glory to Jehovah your God, before He causes darkness, and before your feet stumble on the dark mountains, and, while you look for light, He turns it into the shadow of death, setting up deep gloom. But if you will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride. And my eye shall weep sore and run down with tears, because Jehovah's flock was captured.

And whoever shall exalt himself shall be abased, and he who shall humble himself shall be exalted.

For whoever exalts himself shall be abased, and he who humbles himself shall be exalted.

So let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

Likewise, younger ones, be subject to older ones, and all being subject to one another. Put on humility. For God resists proud ones, but He gives grace to the humble.

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says, God resists the proud, but He gives grace to the humble.

Surely He scorns the scorners; but He gives grace to the lowly.

Then where is the boasting? It is excluded. Through what law? Of works? No, but through the law of faith.

For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

The fear of Jehovah is to hate evil; I hate pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the wicked mouth.

Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, I will cut him off; him who has a high look and a proud heart, I will not allow.
