Become watchful, and strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die; for I have not found your works complete before My God.
"Not every one who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he that does the will of My Father in Heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by Thy name? and by Thy name cast out demons, and by Thy name do many mighty works,'" And then will I confess to them, I never knew you; depart from Me, ye who work iniquity.
"And he saw there a man not having on a wedding-garment; and he says to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here, not having on a wedding-garment?' And He was speechless.
Then will He say also to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, ye accursed! into the eternal fire which was prepared for the Devil and his angels; for I hungered, and ye did not give Me to eat; I thirsted, and ye gave Me no drink; I was a stranger, and ye took Me not in; naked, and ye did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and ye did not look after Me.'read more.
"Then will they also answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see Thee hungering, or thirsting, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to Thee?' "Then will He answer them, saying, 'Verily I say to you, inasmuch as ye did it not to one of these least, ye did it not to Me!' "And these shall go away into age-lasting punishment, but the righteous into age-lasting life."
And He spake also this parable to some who had trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised the rest:
For, if we sin wilfully after we received the full knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment and fierceness of fire about to devour the opposers.
For it were better for them not to have fully known the way of righteousness, than, having known it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. It has happened to them according to the true proverb, "A dog having returned to his own vomit"; and "A sow that was washed, to her wallowing in mire."
If we say, "We have no sin," we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say, "We have not sinned," we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
When they are saying, "Peace and safety," then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall in nowise escape.
"And, as it happened in the days of Noah, so will it be also in the days of the Son of Man: they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were given in marriage, until the day on which Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Charge those who are rich in this present age, not to be high-minded, nor to have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, Who giveth us richly all things for enjoyment;
