Therefore put away all filthiness and extreme wickedness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be you doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a mirror:

As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby:

But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

For the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Sanctify them through your truth: your word is truth.

Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Much every way: chiefly, because unto them were committed the oracles of God.

If any man speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man ministers, let him do it as of the ability which God gives: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
