Again, he sent out other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, "See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding.'" But they made light of it and went off, one to his own farm, another to his business.

Then he said to him, "A certain man gave a great banquet and invited many. And at the time of the banquet he sent his servant to say to those who had been invited, 'Come, for all is now ready.' And another said, 'I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused.' Still another said, 'I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.'

But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have prepared?'

And he told them a parable, saying: "The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. And he thought to himself, 'What shall I do, since I have no place to store my crops?' And he said, 'I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build larger ones; and there I will store all my grain and my goods.

Moreover it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy.

Now Moses was faithful in all God's house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later,

he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.

And we desire each one of you to show the same diligence in realizing the full assurance of hope until the end,

Therefore, brethren, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall;

he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
