30 Bible Verses about Christ's Disciples Will Suffer

But you watch in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fully carry out your ministry.

You therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

For I will show him what great things he must suffer for my name's sake.

For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

And he that takes not his cross, and follows after me, is not worthy of me.

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

And whosoever does not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for you yourselves know that we are appointed unto this.

For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and you know.

Be not therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

And whether one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honored, all the members rejoice with it.

Yet has he not root in himself, but endures for a while: for when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he is offended.

Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and you shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

Except that the Holy Spirit witnesses in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions await me.

Therefore, brethren, we were encouraged over you in all our affliction and distress by your faith:

In which you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you are in heaviness through manifold trials:

For this is commendable, if a man for conscience toward God endures grief, suffering wrongfully.

But if you suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are you: and, Be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

For it is better, if the will of God be so, that you suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. Yet if any man suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begins with us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Therefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.

But the God of all grace, who has called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that you have suffered a while, restore, establish, strengthen, settle you.

For what glory is it, if, when you be buffeted for your faults, you shall take it patiently? but if, when you do well, and suffer for it, you take it patiently, this is commendable with God.

And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation works patience;

But in all things presenting ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

And our hope of you is steadfast, knowing, that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so shall you be also of the consolation.
