Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging-place of way-faring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they are all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.

And a voice of a multitude being at ease was with her: and with the men of the common sort were brought Sabeans from the wilderness, who put bracelets upon their hands, and beautiful crowns upon their heads.

And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas to them, and having scourged Jesus, delivered him to be crucified.

When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holy-day.

Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled to him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very bitterly.

Violence hath risen into a rod of wickedness: none of them shall remain, nor of their multitude, nor of any of theirs: neither shall there be wailing for them. The people answered him, We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of man?

The people therefore that were with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bore testimony.

And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, No; but he deceiveth the people.

And he went forth again by the sea-side; and all the multitude resorted to him, and he taught them.

And he came down with them, and stood in the plain; and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judea and Jerusalem, and from the sea-coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases; And they that were afflicted with unclean spirits: and they were healed. But when the multitude saw it, they marveled, and glorified God, who had given such power to men.

And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.

And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?

The people answered and said, Thou hast a demon: who goeth about to kill thee?

The people therefore that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered. Others said, An angel spoke to him.

But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.

And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people; for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and departed.

And the next sabbath came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God. But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spoke against those things which were uttered by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

Then Jesus spoke to the multitude, and to his disciples,

And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men. And they called Barnabas, Jupiter, and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker. Then the priest of Jupiter, who was before their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.read more.
Which, when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out, And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach to you, that ye should turn from these vanities to the living God, who made heaven and earth, and the sea, and all things that are in them. Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways. Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness. And Jesus, when he came out, saw many people, and was moved with compassion towards them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

And he arose from thence, and cometh into the borders of Judea, by the further side of Jordan: and the people resort to him again; and, as he was accustomed, he taught them again.

And the multitude rose together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.

But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

But the Jews who believed not, moved with envy, took to them certain vile fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city in an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren to the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down, have come hither also; Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Cesar, saying, That there is another king, one Jesus.read more.
And they troubled the people, and the rulers of the city, when they heard these things. And when they had taken security of Jason and of the other, they let them go. And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night to Berea: who coming thither, went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them believed; also of honorable women who were Greeks, and of men not a few. But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached by Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people.

And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion towards them, and he healed their sick.

And when Paul would have entered in to the people, the disciples suffered him not. And certain of the chief of Asia, who were his friends, sent to him, desiring him that he would not adventure himself into the theater. Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused, and the greater part knew not why they had come together.read more.
And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defense to the people. And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul and drew him out of the temple. And forthwith the doors were shut. And as they went about to kill him, tidings came to the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar. Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down to them. Then the chief captain came near and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains: and inquired who he was, and what he had done. And when he came upon the stairs, so it was that he was borne by the soldiers, for the violence of the people. For the multitude of the people followed, crying, Away with him. Art not thou that Egyptian, who before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers? But Paul said, I am a man who am a Jew of Tarsus, a city of Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and I beseech thee suffer me to speak to the people. And when he had given him license, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand to the people. And when there was made entire silence, he spoke to them in the Hebrew language, saying,

And great multitudes followed him, and he healed them there.

And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. But Jesus said to them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. And they say to him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.read more.
He said, Bring them hither to me. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and broke, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came to him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed: Send them away, that they may go into the country around, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat. He answered and said to them, Give ye them to eat. And they say to him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?read more.
He saith to them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes. And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass. And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties. And when he had taken the five loaves, and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and broke the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes he divided among them all. And they all ate, and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes. And they that ate of the loaves, were about five thousand men.

The noise of a multitude in the mountains, as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations assembled: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.

And when the day began to decline, then came the twelve, and said to him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country around, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place. But he said to them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more than five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy provisions for all this people. For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company.read more.

His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in color to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.

When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come to him, he saith to Philip, Whence shall we buy bread that these may eat? (And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.) Philip answered him, Two hundred penny-worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them make take a little:read more.
One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith to him, There is a lad here, who hath five barley-loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. (Now there was much grass in the place.) So the men sat down in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes, as much as they would. When they were satisfied, he said to his disciples, Gather the fragments that remain, that nothing may be lost. Therefore they gathered them, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley-loaves, which remained over and above to them that had eaten.

And after these things I heard a great voice of many people in heaven, saying, Alleluia: Salvation, and glory, and honor, and power, to the Lord our God:

Then Jesus called his disciples to him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way. And his disciples say to him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to satisfy so great a multitude? And Jesus saith to them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.read more.

In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staffs to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.

And Jesus answered and said to them, Have ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and with staffs to take me?

And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, He said to them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they derided him. But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.

And when they could not come nigh to him by reason of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed on which the sick with the palsy lay.

And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in, because of the multitude, they went upon the house-top, and let him down through the tiling with his couch, into the midst before Jesus.

And immediately Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a boat, and to go before him to the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.

But he passing through the midst of them, went away,

And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the boat. And there were also with him other small boats.

And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue.

And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought to thee my son, who hath a dumb spirit;

And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they had come down from the hill, many people met him. And behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee look upon my son: for he is my only child. And lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth, and bruising him, hardly departeth from him.read more.

And behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she will live.read more.

And a certain woman who had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things from many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was not relieved, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the crowd behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that infirmity. And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the throng, and said, Who touched my clothes? And his disciples said to him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he looked around, to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said to her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be healed of thy infirmity.

Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and many people of the city were with her.

And behold, there was a man named Zaccheus, who was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the crowd, because he was little of stature.

And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples, and a great number of people, blind Bartimeus, the son of Timeus, sat by the highway-side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.

And it came to pass, that as he had come nigh to Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging; And hearing the multitude passing by, he asked what it meant. And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.read more.

In these lay a great multitude of impotent persons, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and agitated the water: whoever then first after the stirring of the water stepped in, was cured of whatever disease he had. The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is agitated, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus saith to him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was healed, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people who stand by, I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
