14 Bible Verses about Deafness

And lo! thou shalt be silent, and not able to speak, until the day when these things shall come to pass, because thou didst not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their season.

And Jesus seeing that the multitude came running together, rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, Dumb and deaf spirit, I command thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.

And they bring to him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech, and beseech him to lay his hand upon him. And taking him aside from the multitude, he put his fingers into his ears, and having spit, touched his tongue; and looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith to him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.read more.
And his ears were opened; and the string of his tongue was immediately loosed, and he spoke plain. And he charged them to tell no one; but the more he charged them, the more did they publish it. And they were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well; he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.

And they who were about him, seeing what would follow, said, Lord, shall we smite with the sword? And one of them smote the servant of the highpriest, and cut off his right ear. But Jesus answering said, Permit thus far; and touched his ear, and healed him.

For this peoples heart hath become gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn from their ways, and I should heal them."

And he said, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. And when he was in private, they who were about him, with the twelve, asked him about the parables. And he said to them, To you hath been given the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to them, who are without, all things are done in parables; tread more.
hat seeing they may see, and not perceive, and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest they should turn, and be forgiven.

And he said, To you it hath been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God; but to others [these things are spoken] in parables; that while seeing they may not see, and while hearing they may not understand.

saying, "Go to this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see and not perceive. For the heart of this people hath become gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart and turn from their ways, and I should heal them."

and they will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables.

And the rest of men, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, and of silver, and of brass, and of stone, and of wood, which can neither see; nor hear, nor walk;
