And they were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well; he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.
And they who were about him, seeing what would follow, said, Lord, shall we smite with the sword? And one of them smote the servant of the highpriest, and cut off his right ear. But Jesus answering said, Permit thus far; and touched his ear, and healed him.
For this peoples heart hath become gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn from their ways, and I should heal them."
And he said, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. And when he was in private, they who were about him, with the twelve, asked him about the parables. And he said to them, To you hath been given the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to them, who are without, all things are done in parables; tread more.
