Then the Pharisees went out, and took counsel against him, how they might kill him.
For ye are still carnal: for while there is among you emulation, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk according to man?
For I fear lest when I come, I should not find you such as I would, and lest I should be found by you such as ye would not: lest there should be contentions, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults, Lest my God should humble me when I come to you again,
I beseech Euodias, and I beseech Syntyche, to be of one mind in the Lord.
Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no schisms among you, but that ye be perfectly joined together, in the same mind and in the same judgment. For it hath been declared to me of you, my brethren, by them of the family of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were ye baptized into the name of Paul? I thank God, that I baptized none of you but Crispus and Caius: Lest any should say, that I had baptized in my own name. I baptized also the family of Stephanas. I know not that I baptized any other. For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel; but not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
