Agree with thine adversary quickly, while thou art in the way with him, lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

From whence come wars and fightings among you? Is it not hence, from your pleasures that war in your members? Ye desire and have not, ye kill, and envy, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war; yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

And a servant of the Lord must not strive, but be gentle toward all men, apt to teach, patient of evil, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if haply God may give them repentance, to the acknowledging of the truth; And they may awake out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any have a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

Do nothing through strife or vain-glory, but in lowliness of mind, esteem each the others better than themselves. Look not every one at his own things, but every one also at the things of others.

But avoid foolish and unlearned questions, knowing that they beget strife:

Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord, not to strive about words, to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no schisms among you, but that ye be perfectly joined together, in the same mind and in the same judgment. For it hath been declared to me of you, my brethren, by them of the family of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. Now this I say, every one of you saith, I am of Paul, and I of Apollos, and I of Cephas, and I of Christ.
