"Thou shalt not steal.

'Thou shalt not steal.

Treasures that are wickedly gotten, profit nothing; but righteousness delivereth from death.

He that hurteth his father or shutteth out his mother, is a shameful and an unworthy son.

Thou knowest the commandments: break not matrimony, kill not, steal not, bear no false witness, defraud no man, honour thy father and thy mother."

Thou shalt not beguile thy neighbour with cavillations, neither rob him violently, neither shall the workman's labour abide with thee until the morning.

A false balance is an abomination to the LORD; but a true weight pleaseth him.

Hastily gotten goods are soon spent; but they that be gathered together with the hand, shall increase.

To use two manner of weights, or two manner of measures, both these are abominable unto the LORD.

Thou hast defiled thy Sanctuary, with the great wickedness of thy unrighteous occupying. I will bring a fire from the midst of thee, to consume thee: and will make thee to ashes, in the sight of all them that look upon thee.

If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be as an usurer unto him, neither shalt oppress him with usury.

He that hath not given his money upon usury, nor taken reward against the innocent. Whoso doeth these things shall never fall.

Whoso increaseth his riches by vantage and winning, let him gather them to help the poor withal.

Thou shalt take no gifts, for gifts blind the seeing and pervert the words of the righteous.

The covetous man rooteth up his own house; but whoso hateth rewards, shall live.

Better it is to have a little thing with righteousness, than great rents wrongfully gotten.

The deceitful maketh a nest, but bringeth forth no young: He cometh by riches, but not righteously. In the midst of his life must he leave them behind him, and at the last be found a very fool.

And he said unto them, "Require no more than that which is appointed unto you."

Yea, gifts have been received in thee to shed blood. Thou hast taken usury and increase, thou hast oppressed thy neighbours by extortion, and forgotten me, sayeth the LORD God.

Behold, the hire of the laborers which have reaped down your fields - which hire is of you kept back by fraud - crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped, are entered into the ears of the Lord of Hosts.

Whoso doth a poor man wrong, to increase his own riches, and giveth unto the rich to please him, at the last cometh to poverty himself.

he grieveth nobody; he giveth his debtor his pledge again; he raketh none other man's goods by violence; he parteth his meat with the hungry; he clotheth the naked; he lendeth nothing upon usury; he taketh nothing over; he withdraweth his hand from doing wrong; he handleth faithfully betwixt man and man;

Forsomuch then as ye oppress the poor, and rob him of his best sustenance: therefore, where as ye have builded houses of square stone, ye shall not dwell in them. Marvelous pleasant vineyards shall ye plant; but the wine of them shall ye not drink. And why?

I will come and punish you, and I myself will be a swift witness against the witches, against the adulterers, against false swearers: yea, and against those that wrongfully keep back the hireling's duty, which vex the widows and the fatherless, and oppress the stranger, and fear not me, sayeth the LORD of Hosts.

Take not over great travail and labour to be rich, beware of such a purpose.

And Abram answered the king of Sodom, "I lift up my hand unto the LORD God most high, possessor of heaven and earth, that I will not take of all that is thine, so much as a thread or a shoe latchet, lest thou shouldest say 'I have made Abram rich.'

What shall it profit a man, though he should win all the whole world, if he lose his own soul? Or else, what shall a man give to redeem his soul again withal?

What shall it profit a man, if he should win all the world and lose his own soul?

For what shall it advantage a man, to win the whole world, if he lose himself: or run in damage of himself?

And he put forth a similitude unto them, saying, "The ground of a certain rich man brought forth fruits plenteously, and he thought in himself saying, 'What shall I do? and I will say to my soul: Soul, thou hast much goods laid up in store for many years, take thine ease: eat, drink and be merry.' But God said unto him, 'Thou fool, this night will they fetch away thy soul again from thee. Then whose shall those things be which thou hast provided?' So is it with him that gathered riches, and is not rich in God."

They that will be rich, fall into temptation and snares, and into many foolish and noisome lusts, which drown men in perdition and destruction.

Them that are such, we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that they work with quietness, and eat their own bread.

And Abram answered, "LORD Jehovah, what wilt thou give me? I go childless, and the cater of mine house, this Eliezer of Damascus, hath a son."

"These men are peaceable with us, and will dwell in the land and do their occupation therein; And in the land is room enough for them, let us take their daughters to wives and give them ours;

In every labour there is some profit; but only vain words bringeth forth penury.

House and riches may a man have by the heritage of his elders; but a discreet woman is the gift of the LORD.

Thou oughtest therefore to have had my money to the changers, and then at my coming should I have received my mine own with vantage.

Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank? That at my coming should I might have required mine own, with vantage.'

See that thou know the number of thy cattle thy self, and look well to thy flocks. For riches abide not away, and the crown endureth not forever.

"Go to Hilkiah the high priest, and let him sum the silver that is brought into the house of the LORD, which the keepers of the doors have gathered of the people; and let them deliver it into the hands of the workmen that have the oversight of the house of the LORD, which shall give it to them that work upon the house of the LORD, to repair the decayed places thereof - even unto carpenters and masons, and for to buy timber and free stone to repair the house.read more.
Howbeit, let no reckoning be made with them of the money that is delivered into their hands, but let them do it of their conscience."

And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one: to every man after his ability, and straightway departed. He that is faithful in that which is least: the same is faithful in much. So then if ye have not been faithful in the wicked mammon, who will believe you in that which is true? And if ye have not been faithful in another man's business: who shall give you your own?

Furthermore it is required of the stewards that they be found faithful.

If there be any that provideth not for his own, and namely for them of his household, the same denieth the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

And if any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them minister unto them, and let not the congregation be charged: that it may have sufficient for them that are widows indeed.

While we have, therefore, time; let us do good unto all men, and specially, unto them which are of the household of faith.

He that hath pity upon the poor, lendeth unto the LORD; and look, what he layeth out, it shall be paid him again.

He that giveth unto the poor, shall not want; but he that turneth away his eyes from such as be in necessity, shall suffer great poverty himself.

But when thou doest thine alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: that thine alms may be secret: and thy father which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

Sell that ye have, and give alms. And make you bags, which wax not old, and treasure that faileth not in heaven, where no thief cometh, neither moth corrupteth.

Some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, "Buy those things that we have need of against the feast," or that he should give something to the poor.

And sold their possessions and goods, and departed them to all men, as every man had need.

For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia, to make a certain distribution upon the poor saints which are at Jerusalem.

warning only that we should remember the poor, which thing also I was diligent to do.

and that they do good and be rich in good works, and ready to give and to distribute,

Let him that is taught in the word, minister unto him that teacheth him in all good things.

Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstlings of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenteousness, and thy presses shall flow over with sweet wine.

Bring every tithe into my barn, that there may be meat in mine house: and prove me withal, sayeth the LORD of Hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven unto you, and pour you out a blessing with plenteousness.

not that I desire gifts: but I desire abundant fruit on your part. I received all, and have plenty. I was even filled after that I have received of Epaphroditus, that which came from you, an odor that smelleth sweet, a sacrifice accepted and pleasant to God. My God fulfill all your needs through his glorious riches in Jesus Christ.
