Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them who cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which you have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the innocent.
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but test the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to your trust, avoiding profane and vain utterances, and oppositions of what is falsely called knowledge: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with you. Amen.
Holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to refute the opposition.
But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
