And Asa cried unto the LORD his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with you to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on you, and in your name we go against this multitude. O LORD, you are our God; let not man prevail against you.
And Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and cut down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all these drew the sword.

The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and testing him desired that he would show them a sign from heaven.
Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.
And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with tax collectors and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?
Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not your disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?
And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do you that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days?
And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Teacher, rebuke your disciples.
The Pharisees therefore said unto him, You bear record of yourself; your record is not true.
For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in trial.
And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? And he said, Who are you, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom you persecute: it is hard for you to kick against the goads.
And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
And in the greatness of your excellency you have overthrown them that rose up against you: you sent forth your wrath, which consumed them as stubble.
And God's anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the LORD stood in the way as an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his donkey, and his two servants were with him.
But he sent ambassadors to him, saying, What have I to do with you, you king of Judah? I come not against you this day, but against the house with which I am at war: for God commanded me to make haste: cease from meddling with God, who is with me, that he destroys you not.
But he is of one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desires, even that he does.
What then shall I do when God rises up? and when he comes, what shall I answer him?
Arise, O LORD, confront him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, by your sword:
Get out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.
I have laid a snare for you, and you are also taken, O Babylon, and you were not aware: you are found, and also caught, because you have contended against the LORD.
If then God gave them the same gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; who was I, that I could withstand God?
