And he that keepeth his commandments abideth in him, and he in him; and by this we know that he abideth in us, from the Spirit which he hath given us.

or what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, "I will inhabit in them, and walk about in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be for me a people."

And have no society with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather rebuke them.

He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and in him the truth is not.

let us hold fast the profession of hope unwavering, (for he who promises is faithful.) and let us attentively observe one another, to excite an ardour of love and of good works: not deserting the assembling of ourselves together, as is the custom with some, but exhorting to it; and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
