And if Christ is not raised, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ is not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

And I went by revelation, and communicated to them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them who were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run in vain.

But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Beware lest any man make a prey of you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
