Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

for although they knew God they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. I tell you, though he will not get up and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as much as he needs.

And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.

If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.

Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

And if someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.

To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic. Give to everyone who asks of you, and from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back.

Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God; for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay," says the Lord. And no one was able to answer him a word, nor from that day did any one dare to ask him any more questions.

And they were not able in the presence of the people to catch him by what he said. But marveling at his answer they were silent.

But he gave him no answer, not even to a single charge; so that the governor wondered greatly.
