Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings, for it is good that the heart be established by grace, not by food, through which those who were so occupied were not benefited.
I marvel that you are so quickly deserting him who called you by the grace of Christ to a different "good news"; and there is not another "good news." Only there are some who trouble you, and want to pervert the Good News of Christ.

Some men came down from Judea and taught the brothers, "Unless you are circumcised after the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved."
As many as desire to make a good showing in the flesh, they compel you to be circumcised; only that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. For even they who receive circumcision do not keep the law themselves, but they desire to have you circumcised, that they may boast in your flesh.

If you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances, "Do not handle, nor taste, nor touch" (all of which perish with use), according to the precepts and doctrines of men?
But the Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons,

You therefore, beloved, knowing these things beforehand, beware, lest being carried away with the error of the wicked, you fall from your own steadfastness.

This testimony is true. For this cause, reprove them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, not paying attention to Jewish myths and commandments of men who turn away from the truth.
In covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words: whose sentence now from of old does not linger, and their destruction is not asleep.
But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should proclaim to you a "good news" other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed. As we have said before, so I now say again: if any man preaches to you a "good news" other than that which you received, let him be cursed.
These are wells without water, and mists driven by a storm; for whom the blackness of darkness has been reserved. For, uttering great swelling words of emptiness, they entice in the lusts of the flesh, by licentiousness, those who barely escape from those who live in error; promising them liberty, while they themselves are bondservants of corruption; for a man is brought into bondage by whoever overcomes him.read more.
For if, after they have escaped the defilement of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in it and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. It has happened to them according to the true proverb, "The dog turns to his own vomit again," and "the sow that has washed to wallowing in the mire."
