And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them the things in all the scriptures, concerning himself.

Jesus wrought this beginning of miracles in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory, and his disciples believed on him.

And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he was talking to us in the way, and opening the scriptures to us?

And he said to them, These are the words which I spake to you, being yet with you, that all things written in the law of Moses, and the prophets, and the psalms concerning me, must be fulfilled. Then opened he their understanding,

And as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said to him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. And he said to them, When ye pray, say, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come: Thy will be done as in heaven, so on earth. Give us day by day our daily bread.read more.
And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

And he said to them, To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but to them that are without, all things are in parables: So that seeing they see, and do not perceive, and hearing they hear, and do not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

But without a parable spake he not to them: and in private he expounded all things to his disciples.

And turning to the disciples, he said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see. For I tell you, many prophets and kings have desired to see the things which ye see, and have not seen them, and to hear the things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

And he said to them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while. For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

From that time Jesus began to shew his disciples, That he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
