Now she that is a widow indeed, and left alone, hath set her hope on God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day;
Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and ye will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, the door will be opened.

And he spoke a parable to them to show that they ought to pray always, and not be fainthearted:

And he would not for some time. But afterward he said within himself, Though I neither fear God, nor regard man,read more.
yet, because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her; lest by coming for ever she weary me out. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And will not God avenge his chosen, who cry to him day and night, though he be slow to punish in their behalf? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. But yet, when the Son of man cometh, will he find faith on the earth?
praying with all prayer and entreaty at all times in the Spirit; and watching to this end with all perseverance and entreaty for all the saints,
For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, how constantly I make mention of you, always in my prayers supplicating that, if it be possible, I may at last through the will of God be favored with an opportunity of coming to you.
Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, saluteth you, always striving for you in his prayers, that ye may stand perfect and fully assured in all the will of God.
We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and perseverance in the hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before God our Father;
I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, as without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day,
