Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions, which ye have been taught, whether by word, or by our Epistle.

That I may not seem to terrify you by letters. For his letters indeed, say they, are weighty and strong; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible. Let such an one think this, that such as we are in word by letters, when we are absent, such are we also in deed, when we are present.
And when this epistle hath been read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans, and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.
I charge you by the Lord, that this epistle be read to all the brethren.
This second epistle, beloved, I now write to you, in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance,

For verily I say to you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all things be effected.
