What fruit, therefore, had ye then in the things of which ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
For, what was impossible under law, wherein it was weak through the flesh. God, sending His Own Son in likeness of sinful flesh, and, respecting sin, condemned sin in the flesh; that the requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
For those who are according to the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

Bless those who persecute you; bless, and curse not. Be ready to rejoice with those who rejoice; to weep with those who weep; thinking the same thing one toward another; minding not lofty things, but being carried along with the lowly. Be ye not wise in your own conceits; recompensing to no one evil for evil; providing things honorable in the sight of all men; if it be possible, so far as it depends on you, being at peace with all men; not avenging yourselves, beloved, but give place to the wrath of God: for it has been written, "Vengeance is Mine; I will recompense," saith the Lord. But, if your enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirsts, give him drink; for, in doing this, you will heap coals of fire upon his head. Be not overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
The night was far spent, and the day has drawn near; let us, therefore, put off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. As in the day, let us walk becomingly; not in revellings and drunkenness, not in lewdness and wantonness, not in strife and jealousy; but put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill its desires.
I, therefore, the prisoner in the Lord exhort you to walk worthily of the calling with which ye were called, with all humility and meekness, with long-suffering, bearing with one another in love; earnestly endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Love suffers long, is kind; love envies not; love vaunts not herself, is not puffed up, behaves not unseemly, seeks not her own, is not provoked, takes no account of evil, rejoices not at unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails; but whether there be prophecies, they will be done away; whether there be tongues, they will cease; whether there be knowledge, it will be done away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part; but, when the complete comes, the partial will be done away. It is needful, therefore, that the bishop be irreproachable, a husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, orderly, hospitable, apt to teach, not given to wine, not a striker, but gentle, not contentious, not a lover of money, presiding well over his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravityread more.
(but, if one knows not how to preside over his own house, how will he take care of an assembly of God?); not a novice; lest, being puffed up, he fall into condemnation of the Devil. And it is needful also that he have an honorable testimony from those without, lest he fall into reproach and a snare of the Devil.
Remind them to submit to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work; to speak evil of no one, to be averse to strife, to be mild, showing all meekness to all men.
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come; for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, intemperate, fierce, no lovers of good,read more.
traitors, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; holding a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from these also turn away.
having your conduct seemly among the gentiles; that, wherein they speak against you as evil-doers, they may, from your good works which they behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. Submit yourself to every human ordinance, for the Lord's sake; whether to a king as supreme; or to governors, as sent through him for the punishment of evil-doers, and for praise to those who do well;read more.

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever.
