These, then, are the Tidings that we have heard from him and now tell you-- 'God is Light, and Darkness has no place at all in him.'
To begin with, it is undoubtedly a loss to you to have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather let yourselves be wronged? Why not rather let yourselves be cheated?
Yet not without the hope that some day Nature, also, will be set free from enslavement to decay, and will attain to the freedom which will mark the Glory of the Children of God.
They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves to corrupt habits; for a man is the slave of anything to which he gives way.
Do not store up treasures for yourselves on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
So, too, every sound tree bears good fruit, while a worthless tree bears bad fruit.
