Therefore, as I said, we do not lose heart. No, even though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

For you wilt not abandon my soul to the Place of Death, nor surrender me, your holy one, to undergo corruption.

Sell what belongs to you, and give in charity. Make yourselves purses that will not wear out--an inexhaustible treasure in Heaven, where no thief comes near, or moth works ruin.

given us the new Life of undying hope, that promises an inheritance, imperishable, stainless, unfading, which has been reserved for you in Heaven--

since your new Life has come, not from perishable, but imperishable, seed, through the Message of the Everliving God.

but the inner life with the imperishable beauty of a quiet and gentle spirit; for this is very precious in God's sight.

Then, when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will win the crown of glory that never fades.

For it was through this that he gave us what we prize as the greatest of his promises, that through them you might participate in the divine nature, now that you have fled from the corruption in the world, resulting from human passions.
