Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed,
Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right.

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you.
You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.
A fool rejects his father’s discipline,
But he who regards reproof is sensible.
Children, be obedient to your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord.
And He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and He continued in subjection to them; and His mother treasured all these things in her heart.
