And they buried him in his own tomb, which he had made for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odors and kinds of spices prepared by the perfumers art. And they made a very great burning for him.
And they returned and they prepared spices and ointment. And they rested on the sabbath day according to the commandment.

He who loves pleasure shall be a poor man; he who loves wine and oil shall not be rich.
who drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the best of oils; nor do they grieve for the breaking of Joseph!
Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?

The butterings of his mouth were forked, but war was in his heart; his words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords.

Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then has the healing of the daughter of My people not come?
