And he walked in all the sins of his father which he had done before him. And his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as the heart of David his father.
And he did the evil because he did not prepare his heart to seek Jehovah.
The foolishness of man perverts his way, and his heart frets against Jehovah.
You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God. Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.
undiscerning, perfidious, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful;
because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the Law of God, neither indeed can it be.
Take heed, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

All these evil things pass out from inside and defile the man.
They who are of a perverse heart are hateful to Jehovah, but the upright in the way are His delight.
A perverse heart will depart from me; I will not know the wicked. Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, I will cut him off; him who has a high look and a proud heart, I will not allow.
Everyone proud in heart is hateful to Jehovah; though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
He who has a perverse heart finds no good, and he who has a crooked tongue falls into mischief.
And it will be, when the Lord has broken off all His work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the proud heart of the king of Assyria and the glory of his high looks.
I Jehovah search the heart, I try the reins, even to give to each man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.
For so says the Lord Jehovah: Because you have clapped your hands and stamped the foot, and rejoiced in heart with all your spite against the land of Israel; behold, therefore I will stretch out My hand on you, and will give you as a prize to the nations. But that which was sown on the stony places is this: he who hears the Word and immediately receives it with joy. But he has no root in himself, and is temporary. For when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the Word, he immediately stumbles.
And these are those likewise being sown on stony places; who, when they hear the Word, immediately receive it with gladness. But they have no root in themselves, but are temporary. Afterward when affliction or persecution arises for the Word's sake, they are immediately offended.
Those on the rock are the ones who, when they hear, receive the Word with joy. And these have no root, who for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good Word of God and the powers of the world to come, and who have fallen away; it is impossible, I say, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify the Son of God afresh to themselves and put Him to an open shame.read more.
(For the earth which drinks in the rain that comes often upon it, and brings forth plants fit for those by whom it is dressed, receives blessing from God. But that which bears thorns and briers is rejected and is a curse, whose end is to be burned.)
For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy of punishment, the one who has trampled the Son of God, and who has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
