10 Bible Verses about Proving, Through Testing

In which ye rejoice, tho' now for a little while, if need be, ye are grieved through various trials. That the proof of your faith, which is much more precious than of gold, (that perisheth, though tried by fire) may be found unto praise, and honor, and glory, when Jesus Christ shall be revealed:

Then Jesus lifted up his eyes, and seeing a great multitude come to Him, saith to Philip, Whence shall we buy bread that these people may eat? (and this He said to try him, for He knew what He was going to do:)

Account it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into various trials: knowing this, that the trial of your faith worketh patience;

Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted Him, and were destroyed by serpents: nor murmur,

Therefore, as the holy Ghost saith, "To-day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness, when your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years:read more.
wherefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, They are always erring in their heart, and they have not known my ways: so I sware in my wrath, they shall not enter into my rest."

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove yourselves: do ye not know yourselves to be such that Jesus Christ is in you? unless ye are reprovable.

But let every one try his own work, and then he will have matter of glorying in himself alone, and not in another.

yet try all things, and hold fast that which is good.

And let but two or three of the prophets speak, and the others judge.

Beloved, believe not every Spirit, but try the spirits, whether they be of God: for many false prophets are gone out into the world. By this ye may know the Spirit of God: every Spirit that confesseth Jesus Christ, who is come in the flesh, is of God: and every spirit that doth not confess Jesus Christ, who is come in the flesh, is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, which ye have heard was coming, and is already in the world.
