For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken to you by God, saying, "I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob"? He is not a God of the dead, but of the living. And when the multitudes heard this, they were astonished at his teaching. And the Pharisees, hearing that he had put the Sadducees to silence, assembled together; and one of them, a lawyer, asked, trying him, Teacher, which commandment is great in the Law? And he said to him, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." This is the great and first commandment. There is a second like it: "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.
Pilate therefore went into the palace again, and called Jesus, and said to him, Art thou the King of the Jews? Jesus answered, Dost thou say this of thyself, or did others tell thee concerning me? Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thy own nation and the chief priests delivered thee up to me. What hast thou done?read more.
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have fought, that I should not be delivered up to the Jews; but now is my kingdom not from hence. For this end have I been born, and for this cause have I come into the world, that I may bear witness to the truth. Every one that is of the truth listeneth to my voice. Pilate saith to him, What is truth? And having said this, he went out again to the Jews, and saith to them, I find nothing criminal in him.
At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And he called a child to him, and set him in the midst of them, and said, Truly do I say to you, Unless ye are changed, and become as children, ye will not enter the kingdom of heaven.read more.
Whoever therefore shall humble himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receiveth one such child in my name, receiveth me.
